Biography
Angelo Antolino was born in 1979 in Naples.
In 1998 enrolled at the Suor Orsola University where he began attending the lessons of Stefano Causa in the methodology of History of Art.
In 2000 he started a course of photography directed by Lucia Patalano.
During the years 2000 and 2003 he participated and won several competitions in his home town and region.
In 2004 carried out a reportage on the historical hospital of Annunziata for the cultural event Maggio dei monumenti, entitled Esposti in mostra.
In 2005 he graduated from University with a thesis on History and Techniques of Photography with an anthropological reportage on pilgrimage at Madonna dell’Arco’s Sanctuary, which began in 2002.
In January 2005 he began publishing his pictures on the most important national newspapers.
In January 2006 he began working for the Soprintendenza Speciale al Polo Museale Napoletano in which he developed a reportage on the preparation of the exhibition Titian and court portraits from Rafaello to Carraccis in the Capodimonte museum.
In April 2006, the reportage Sulla spiaggia which began in 2002, is exhibited at the International Festival of Rome FotoGrafia, and chosen to be part of the four exhibitions of FotoGrafia Litorale.
In July he was chosen to be part of the international Festival Meno 31 – tourism revolution and commissioned a reportage on the town of Tuili in one of the regions of Sardinia region.
In march 2007 he exhibited the reportage Strategy of attention in the collective exhibition Non tutte le strade portano a Roma with Guy Tillim, Raphael Dalla Porta, Luca Campigotto, Xavier Ribas and Giuliano Matteucci in the International Festival of Rome FotoGrafia.
Now he’s based in Berlin and collaborating with some of the most important european magazines.
